WordPress Integration Guide

Connect WordPress so Nuwtonic can sync posts and pages, publish generated content, and push approved SEO fixes through the Nuwtonic WordPress plugin.

1. What this integration does

With WordPress connected, Nuwtonic can:

  • sync posts and pages from your WordPress site;
  • publish content generated in Content Generation;
  • apply approved on-page SEO fixes such as meta and schema updates through the plugin;
  • keep one active CMS connection for the workspace.

WordPress connects with the Nuwtonic plugin and your workspace Website ID. You do not need to paste an application password for the standard plugin flow.

2. Before you start

  1. You have admin access to the WordPress site.
  2. The site uses HTTPS.
  3. You can install plugins (or a developer can install them for you).
  4. Security plugins are not blocking the WordPress REST API.
  5. The Nuwtonic workspace already exists and is linked to the correct website domain.

Only one CMS integration can be active per workspace. Disconnect Shopify, Ghost, Webflow, or Webhook before relying on WordPress if another platform is currently connected.

3. Connect WordPress in Nuwtonic

  1. Open the workspace.
  2. Go to Integrations.
  3. Find WordPress and select Connect.
  4. Download the Nuwtonic WordPress plugin from the connection screen.
  5. Copy the Website ID shown in Nuwtonic.
  6. In WordPress Admin, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  7. Upload the plugin zip, then activate it.
  8. Open the Nuwtonic plugin dashboard in WordPress.
  9. Paste the Website ID and select Connect.
  10. Return to Nuwtonic and select I connected the plugin.

The integration is ready when:

  • the plugin is active in WordPress;
  • the Website ID matches the workspace website;
  • Nuwtonic shows WordPress as connected.

4. Website ID rules

  • Copy the Website ID exactly from the Nuwtonic connection modal.
  • Do not reuse a Website ID from a different workspace.
  • If you recreate the website record, update the plugin with the new Website ID.
  • Keep the plugin installed and active. Deactivating it stops sync and publish delivery.

5. Publishing and SEO fixes

Publish content

  1. Generate or finalize an article in Content Generation.
  2. Choose publish through the connected WordPress integration.
  3. Confirm the post appears in WordPress as draft or published, depending on the flow you selected.
  4. Open the live or preview URL and verify title, body, and media.

Apply SEO fixes

  1. Run an SEO audit or agent on a page.
  2. Review the proposed fixes in Nuwtonic.
  3. Push only approved fixes.
  4. Reload the live page in a private browser window and confirm the change.

Start with a low-risk page the first time you publish or push fixes.

6. Troubleshooting

Plugin download is unavailable

If download fails with a configuration message, contact support. The plugin URL must be configured for your environment.

Connection fails after paste of Website ID

  • Confirm the Website ID was copied without extra spaces.
  • Confirm the plugin is activated.
  • Confirm the WordPress site URL matches the workspace domain.
  • Disable or adjust security plugins that block outbound or REST requests, then retry.

Publish or fix delivery fails

  • Confirm WordPress still shows as Connected in Nuwtonic Integrations.
  • Confirm the plugin is still active.
  • Retry with a single page.
  • Check WordPress for conflicting SEO plugins that overwrite meta or schema after Nuwtonic writes.

REST API or permissions errors

If your environment still uses application passwords for testing:

  1. WordPress must use HTTPS.
  2. Application Passwords must be enabled.
  3. Security plugins must allow the REST API.

For the standard product flow, prefer the plugin + Website ID path shown in the Integrations modal.

7. Production checklist

  • Plugin installed and activated
  • Website ID pasted and connected
  • Nuwtonic shows WordPress as Connected
  • Test publish succeeded on a non-critical page
  • Test SEO fix verified on the live page
  • No second CMS integration enabled for the same workspace
